Keeping this thought of Swami Vivekananda in mind,a group of likeminded people from different professions got together to join hands and serve humanity in whatever small way they could. They felt the pain and suffering of the poor, needy, down-trodden, backward,aged,ailing,helpless, distressed people & tried to fulfill their long desired dream irrespective of any cast, creed or religion.They came together and formed an organization by the name of "SOUTH KOLKATA MANASI", in the year 2007.This social welfare organization was registered by the Govt.of West Bengal in the year 2007 as-S/1L/49370.
South Kolkata Manansi started its new journey to render medical assistance for downtrodden community at Pratapnagar organising Medical Camp every 2nd & 4th Sunday of the month with assistance of Manjuri. Secy.S.K.Manasi.
After being of some help to the needy,we have pledged to be of some more use to the society,to extend our activities and helping hand a bit further and reach a few more people.
To contribute more meaningfully towards the upliftment of the underprivileged, destitute children, ailing senior citizens, handicapped, distressed women and the suffering humanity at large. 1. Providing medical assistance to the needy at remote areas. 2. Financial support to poor but meritorious students. 3. Vocational training and support for the economic empowerment of the underprivileged.
